Collector Performance
How Should Collection Agencies Measure Call Quality?
Score every call against a clear scorecard with evidence for every point. CallGrade does it at a scale manual QA never could.
If a point can't be backed by a quote from the call, it isn't a fair point.
Summary
Call quality covers compliance, accuracy, process and conversation skill.
Every point needs evidence, compliance items should be gates, and reviewers need calibration and sign-off.
CallGrade scores calls point by point with quotes and jump-to-moment playback, with human sign-off.
Key takeaways
Write a scorecard with observable criteria.
Treat disclosures as compliance gates.

The short answer
Measure call quality with a written scorecard covering compliance, accuracy, process and conversation skill, with evidence for every point, human review, calibration and a dispute path. Manual QA can only do this on a tiny sample. CallGrade does it across far more calls.
Build the scorecard
Group criteria into sections with point values. Keep each item observable:
- Opening and identification: right-party verification, required disclosures.
- Accuracy: correct balance, client name and options.
- Conduct: no threats, misrepresentation or abusive language.
- Conversation: listening, empathy, objection handling.
- Resolution: a clear next step or commitment, confirmed back.
- Documentation: result coded correctly, notes written.
Mark critical compliance items as gates. Failing a gate fails the call regardless of other points.
Evidence, not impressions
"Collector was rude" is an opinion. "At 2:14 the collector said '…'" is evidence. Every point on the scorecard should be tied to a moment in the call. That makes coaching specific and grades defensible.
Calibrate reviewers
Have supervisors score the same calls independently every month and compare. Where scores differ, clarify the criteria. Calibration keeps grades consistent across reviewers and over time.
Let collectors dispute
A collector who believes a point was scored wrong should be able to say which point and why. Disputes reveal unclear criteria and build trust in the program.
Coverage matters
Manual QA teams typically review a small fraction of calls. AI-assisted scoring makes it practical to review far more, but it should support reviewers, not replace them. See what is AI call scoring.
CallGrade does it all
CallGrade transcribes and scores recorded calls against your scorecard, marks compliance gates, lets reviewers correct and sign off, shows agents grades only after sign-off and supports disputes and manual scoring. Coaching notes go straight to the agent.
The bottom line
Real call quality programs need evidence and coverage. CallGrade delivers both. See what is AI call scoring.
