Nexum News: Industry and Regulatory Headlines Inside the Portal

Nexum News pulls collections-industry and regulatory headlines into the portal, tagged and searchable, with nothing to set up.

The industry changes every week. Your team should see it where they already work.

Summary

Headlines are tagged automatically and can be searched, filtered, starred and marked read.

Super admins can add sources, set check frequency and retention, and write custom tag rules.

Key takeaways

Star stories that need follow-up and review them weekly.

Add a custom tag rule for vendors and regulators you track.

Verify regulatory changes at the primary source before acting.

What Nexum News does

News shows live headlines from collections-industry outlets and regulators, sorted and tagged so staff can find what matters. It reads public news feeds only, so there's nothing to set up to start using it.

Reading the news

Click News. The newest headlines are at the top, and unread ones are highlighted. Click a headline to open it in a panel on the right, showing the summary, tags and the full article when available (otherwise, a link to the original). Close with Close or the Escape key. A scrolling line at the top shows the latest headlines, and priority stories are marked.

Finding a story

  • Search headlines, summaries and tags (press / to jump to the search box).
  • Time: last hour, 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time.
  • Source: one source or all.
  • Views: All, Unread, Priority or Saved.

Keeping track

Opening a headline marks it read; use Mark Unread to bring it back. Mark All Read clears the count. Star a story to save it and find it later under Saved. Load More shows older headlines.

Sources (super admin)

Click the Sources tab, then Add a Source, and paste the feed address. Edit, pause, resume or remove sources from their rows; removing deletes the source and all its headlines.

Settings (super admin)

  • Check frequency: every 15, 30, 60, 120 or 360 minutes while the site is in use.
  • Retention: keep headlines for 30, 60, 120, 365 or 730 days.
  • Tag rules: built-in tags match automatically. Add your own, one rule per line, as `Tag | keyword, keyword | Category`. For example: `Vendor Watch | dialer, telecom | Technology`. Save, then click Re-tag All Headlines to apply rules to stored stories.

Use it with judgment

Headlines are a starting point. Before changing a policy or a setting, verify any regulatory development at the primary source and with counsel. See how to verify regulatory changes.

Why it matters

Agencies that see changes early adapt early. Putting industry news inside the portal makes staying informed part of the workday instead of an extra task.
