Recovery Intelligence

DebtorIndex in Practice: Tiers, Work Lists, Holds and Overrides

DebtorIndex ranks open accounts into tiers A to D, builds work lists, holds accounts that must never be contacted and logs every override.

The tier orders the day. It never decides how a person is treated.

Summary

DebtorIndex scores accounts on how likely they are to pay, using what each account has actually done.

Work lists include Call, Fix Contact Data and, for admins, Bureau Pull, Holds and Legal.

Every override needs a reason and is written to the decision log with the person's name.

Key takeaways

Run the first scoring, then turn on nightly rescoring.

Send Fix Contact Data accounts to skip trace before more calls.

Use overrides sparingly and always explain them.

What DebtorIndex does

DebtorIndex scores every open account by how likely it is to pay, ranks accounts into tiers A to D, and suggests the best way and time to reach each person. It uses what the account has actually done: payments, contacts, promises, plans and responses. Agents use it to decide who to work first and to see how their own work is going. DebtorIndex is 502ZONE's recovery intelligence module, available for demonstration now.

You'll find it in the left menu under Nexum CRM. Agents see three tabs: My Index, Work Lists and Account.

First time: score the portfolio

If nothing has been scored, click Run the first scoring. It reads every call, text, email, voicemail drop, letter and payment on file, scores each account, ranks it into tiers A to D, and writes the score onto the account so every call list can use it. You'll see a progress message until it finishes. After that, scores stay current. Super admins can turn on Rescore every night, and anyone authorized can click Rescore now on one account.

Work lists

  • Call: accounts to call now. Accounts on hold, at the weekly attempt limit, or with no working number are left out.
  • Fix contact data: many attempts with no conversation and a bad or thin number. Send these for skip trace before more calls.

Admins see three more:

  • Bureau pull: the score is unsure, so a pull could change the decision. Most unsure first; the Bureau column says Pull or Skip. See should you buy bureau data for every account.
  • Holds: accounts never contacted, whatever the score: cease, do-not-call, bankruptcy, attorney, deceased, dispute, or a status that excludes contact.
  • Legal: accounts for legal review.

Search by name or account number, click a row to open the account in DebtorIndex, or export the list to CSV.

The tier is a guide, not a judgment

The tier helps order your day. It does not decide how you treat a person. Every account still follows the compliance rules in the CRM.

Admin tools on an account

  • Rescore now: score the account again.
  • Override: pin a tier or place a manual hold. Choose it, type the reason and save. Every override needs a reason and is written to the decision log with your name. Clear it to remove.
  • Decisions on this account: when, source, what changed and who.

Connecting to the rest of Nexum

DebtorIndex tiers feed the Daily Call List Builder, and its work lists can shape SilentReach, Nudge and Campaigns audiences. Its entries in the Comm Log show the grade and why it was chosen.

Why it matters

Prioritization is one of the biggest levers on recovery. DebtorIndex makes it systematic, auditable and tied to real behavior. For the bigger picture, read propensity to pay is a decision system.
