Nudge: SMS Campaigns That Screen Every Text Before It Sends

Nudge sends text campaigns to the right accounts and checks every text twice: when the audience is built and again at the moment it's sent.

Every text is screened twice, because the rules can change between Monday and Tuesday.

Summary

Nudge sends SMS campaigns from CRM audiences using approved message templates.

It excludes blocked statuses, landlines, invalid numbers, STOP opt-outs, duplicates and numbers at the weekly limit.

Every text is posted to the account so the whole team sees it.

Key takeaways

Write English and Spanish versions of each message in Templates.

Practice in dry-run mode until a text provider is connected.

Watch replies and failures as closely as deliveries.

What Nudge does

Nudge sends text-message campaigns to the right accounts and checks every text before it goes out. It makes sure you don't text people who must not be contacted, honors STOP replies and respects contact hours. Every text it sends is posted on the account so the team sees it.

Before you start

  • Message text is written in Templates → Text Messages, not in Nudge. Write an English version, and a Spanish one if you have Spanish speakers. See Nexum Templates.
  • A text provider must be connected by a super admin in Settings → Service Credentials. Until then, Nudge shows a yellow note and you can only practice in dry-run mode.
  • The Templates module must be installed; Nudge tells you if it's missing.

Who is never texted

Every recipient is screened when you check the audience and again at the moment each text is sent. Nudge leaves out accounts with:

  • Cease-and-desist, do-not-call, bankruptcy, deceased, litigious, disputed, or litigation or judgment status.
  • An expired statute of limitations.
  • Closed or no-contact statuses.
  • Landline or invalid numbers, or numbers not allowed to receive texts.
  • Numbers that opted out with STOP.
  • Duplicate numbers.
  • Numbers that already reached the weekly limit.

Watching a campaign

Click a campaign to see counts for texts, waiting, sent, delivered, replies, skipped and failed, plus details and the latest activity.

Pause, resume or cancel

Open the campaign and use the buttons at the bottom. Pause stops sending until you click Resume. Cancel campaign stops it for good; texts not yet sent won't go out. You must confirm.

Why double screening matters

Between building an audience on Monday and sending on Tuesday, a consumer might file a dispute, send a cease-and-desist, reply STOP or reach a frequency limit. Screening again at send time catches those changes.

Measuring results

Look past deliveries to replies, payments and complaints. Compare campaigns by audience and message. Coordinate with voicemail and email so consumers aren't overwhelmed. See can SMS improve debt collection results.

Why it matters

Texting can lift response rates, but only when it's controlled. Nudge makes the controls the default, not an afterthought.
