Client & Portfolio Management
Setting Up Creditor Clients in Nexum: Codes, Fees and Portal Logins
Every account belongs to a client. Fees, portal logins and reporting are all set per creditor on the Clients screen.
Get the client record right and every fee, report and commission downstream is right too.
Summary
Clients are the creditors who place accounts with your agency; everything in Nexum ties back to one.
Each client has a name, a permanent short code, an industry, a contact, a fee percentage and an active flag.
Client portal logins can be created or reset directly from the client's row.
Key takeaways
Choose client codes carefully; they can't be changed later.
Set the fee percentage before payments post; commissions depend on it.
Deactivate clients instead of deleting them.
Why clients come first
In Nexum, clients are the creditors who place accounts with your agency. Everything is tied to a client: every account belongs to one, fees are set per client, and each client can have a login to the Client Portal.
What the client list shows
For each client: the name and industry, the code, the contact, the number of accounts, the total balance, the fee percentage, whether the client is active, and the portal login if one exists. Inactive clients appear dimmed.
Adding a client
Click Clients in the left menu, then + New Client. Enter the Name and a short Code (for example, ACME). Both are required, and the code can't be changed later, so pick something stable and recognizable. Fill in the industry, contact details and fee percentage.
The fee percentage matters
The client's fee percentage is the share of each payment the agency earns. It drives:
- The agency's revenue on each payment.
- Collector commissions, which are a percentage of the agency fee. See how Nexum calculates commissions.
- Client reporting and remittance.
Set it before payments post.
Editing and deactivating
Click Edit on the client's row, change what you need and click Save Client. To stop using a client without losing history, untick Active rather than deleting.
Portal logins
Click Create Login on the client's row. If a login exists, the button says Reset Login. Confirm, and a new password is generated. Logins can also be managed from User Management with the Client (Creditor) role.
Industries and qualification
The client's industry connects to agent qualification in Back Office: collectors can be limited to the debt types they're licensed or trained for, and daily lists respect that.
Multi-client operations
Agencies with many creditors often have different rules, fees and reporting expectations per client. Keeping them all in one structured place is the first step away from per-client spreadsheets. See one CRM, many creditor rulebooks.
Why it matters
Clean client setup means accurate fees, commissions and reports from day one, and a clean portal experience for every creditor.
